Case study

Rooted Ground documentary film

A twelve-minute non-fiction portrait following community soil regeneration across four urban farming initiatives, commissioned to capture authentic environmental stewardship without corporate staging.

Method and craft

Quiet observations on location

We embedded a two-person documentary unit across sixteen dawn shifts to observe real field routines. Handheld cinema lenses and directional shotgun microphones preserved spontaneous conversations between urban growers and visiting school groups without artificial interruptions.

The resulting footage was assembled into a non-linear narrative arc finished in DaVinci Resolve Studio. Bespoke field audio recordings and restrained natural color grading establish a rhythm that honors the physical labor of sustainable agriculture.

Director perspective

When the production footprint remains quiet, people drop their protective camera posture and share why their everyday work genuinely matters.
